Most properties this size get built in pieces, with a different contractor for the patio, the irrigation, and the lighting. This one was built as a single plan. Flora Landscape Contractors took on the full scope, including the drainage and irrigation below grade, so the lawn, beds, and hardscape above would hold up to South Louisiana rain.

A Front Landscape Built Around the Drive

Clipped hedges and rounded shrubs frame the home's white facade and arched entry, with seasonal color in the front beds and fresh sod running out to the mature oaks. A long, straight drive carries the eye to the house. After dark, landscape lighting washes the facade and the trees around it.

Out back, a bluestone terrace extends from the covered patio, where ceiling fans and lounge seating create a shaded outdoor room. Red brick borders frame the bluestone. A round fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs sits out on the terrace. A wood privacy fence encloses the yard, lined with columnar evergreens that are uplit at night. Synthetic lawn and sod cover the rest of the property.
