OUR STORY
Deeply Rooted in Landscapes
Flora Landscape Contractor, a company deeply connected to the local landscape, is led by owner Sebastian Alvarez. Immigrating from Colombia to Louisiana at the age of two, Sebastian was raised alongside his father, Jairo Alvarez, a local builder and philanthropist who was inducted into the Baton Rouge Business Hall of Fame.
Growing up on construction sites, Sebastian developed a natural eye for design. He further honed his passion by studying landscape design at LSU, where extensive world travel and a transformative internship in Japan helped shape his unique style.
Today, he leads Flora Landscape, focusing on creating job opportunities while enhancing the beauty of the community.

Flora began with a truck, a sketchbook, and a belief that outdoor spaces should feel as considered as interiors. Today, we design and build some of Louisiana’s most recognizable residential and commercial landscapes, where beauty, function, and local ecology all have a seat at the table.
